Intellectual Property Rights
Universitas Padjadjaran established the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Unit (UPT HKI Unpad) as a dedicated platform to assist Unpad academic community members, the general public, and related institutions in addressing various issues related to intellectual property rights and their management.
Intellectual Property Rights
Introduction
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), commonly referred to as "Hak Kekayaan Intelektual" (HKI) in Indonesian, are the rights that arise from the creative work of an individual, resulting in a product or process that is beneficial to humanity. In essence, IPR is the right to enjoy the economic benefits of one's intellectual creativity. The objects governed by IPR are works that arise or are born from human intellectual abilities (Source: http://e-tutorial.dgip.go.id/)
Online services for IPR management can be found on the website of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property: https://laman.dgip.go.id/.
Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) has its own Intellectual Property Rights Unit (UPT HKI Unpad), which serves as a platform to assist Unpad academics, the public, and related institutions in addressing various issues related to intellectual property rights and their management. IPR management is carried out in the following ways:
- Recognizing, rewarding, and protecting the creativity of creative individuals within the Unpad academic community and the general public.
- Encouraging the creation of new works, inventions, and discoveries in the process of developing science and technology.
- Establishing partnerships with third parties for the development and commercialization of IPR.
- Recognizing, rewarding, and protecting the creativity of creative individuals within the Unpad academic community and the general public
Registration Procedure
The Faculty opens IPR registration through the Faculty of Psychology, which will be coordinated by the Research, PPM, Innovation, and Cooperation Manager. IPR registration can be done in two ways:
- Registration through the Unpad Innovation and Corporation Directorate (costs borne by Unpad but sometimes constrained by long registration times). For guidelines, please download at this link: https://inovkor.unpad.ac.id/page/3/
- Registration through the Faculty (costs are borne by the individual, but the time is relatively faster).
If you choose to register through method 1, please contact the Unpad IPR Unit on the 4th floor of the Jatinangor Rectorate Building. The Research, PPM, Innovation, and Cooperation Manager will facilitate IPR registration through the faculty (method no. 2).
The requirements for IPR registration at the faculty are identical to those for IPR registration through the Unpad Innovation and Corporation Directorate. However, suppose you choose to be facilitated by the faculty. In that case, you only need to submit the files to the Research, PPM, Innovation, and Cooperation Manager and they will be assisted in processing them to Unpad.
Please note that for IPR registration at this time, the copyright holder is Unpad. Do not worry because it will not significantly impact your position as the creator. It will only be recorded that the copyright holder is Unpad. The requirements for IPR registration are as follows:
- Scanned KTP (Identity Card) of all creators (saved in JPEG/PDF format, all creators' KTP files merged into one file).
- Scanned NPWP (Tax Identification Number) of all creators (saved in JPEG/PDF format, all creators' NPWP files merged into one file).
- Complete address of all creators, including postal code, saved in Word file format (Doc.)
- Work of creation in PDF format not exceeding 5 M
- Description of the creation work in Word file format (Doc.)
- The application for registration of creation was made on 1 sheet of Folio (F4) paper, 3 copies of which were stamped. All names of the creators must be written on this registration form. If submitting online, then only 1 copy is required to be stamped, saved in PDF format.
- Joint Ownership Certificate made in 2 copies, where 1 (one) sheet is signed above the stamp in the applicant section, 1 (one) sheet is signed above the stamp in the Director of Innovation and Corporation section. Create on Folio (F4) paper. Please note that all creators must sign this ownership sheet. If there are many, at least 2 creator signatures must be stamped. If submitting online, the two files are combined into 1 PDF file.
- Statement of Creation 1 sheet (stamp in the signature column). Create on 1 sheet of Folio (F4) paper. If submitting online, save the file in PDF format.
- Please do not combine letters 6, 7 and 8.
- If submitting online, all files are expected to be scanned using a scanner to produce good and non-blurry results, and all complete files are emailed to ratna@unpad.ac.id
The Research, PPM, Innovation, and Cooperation Manager will assist with the process to Unpad. You only need to wait for news from the Research, PPM, Innovation, and Cooperation Manager to complete the IPR payment.
