Ngariung Bareng Dekanat: How Aspirations Lead to Change

A hopeful and serious atmosphere settles over the ABC Hall of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University, as Ngariung Bareng Dekanat officially commenced at 4.30 PM, 8th of May 2025. Ngariung Bareng Dekanat is an event for the civitas of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University, where students can voice their aspirations to the current dean’s administration. This event is held two times a year by the Department of Student Welfare in the faculty’s student executive board, assisted by the 3rd Commission of the Student Representative Body. The main purpose of this event is to provide feedback relevant to students’ current needs regarding the facilities available and the currently applied policies at the faculty.

After several weeks of surveying aspirations by gathering and organizing data, the results are discussed and addressed through moderated discussions between the dean’s administration, students, and student senators. Faculty members responded calmly to the students’ many aspirations, expressing the course of action they have taken/will take going forward, giving feedback on what to do in the current situation, and shedding light on information that was previously unclear.

As this semester’s Ngariung Bareng Dekanat comes to a close, students are hopeful due to the assurance from faculty that several points of feedback can be addressed immediately. The students left the hall feeling heard, with a renewed sense of collaboration between students and faculty members. Constructive dialogue fostered optimism for real improvements in the near future. With both parties committed to continued communication, the event reinforced a shared dedication to advancing the quality of education and student well-being at the Faculty of Psychology.
