The Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran has collaborated with Grhasia Psychiatric Hospital Yogyakarta in implementing the Hospitium course, which has led to success for the Master of Professional Psychology students from the class of 2022.
This program was attended by 16 professional master students from the 2022 cohort. Hospitium, which is a part of the Professional Master’s curriculum, aims to provide learning experiences in clinical settings, particularly in hospitals. Additionally, this course carries a weight of 2 course credits (SKS).
Based on the collaboration between the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran and Grhasia Psychiatric Hospital Yogyakarta in conducting the Hospitium activities, this partnership can be linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3, which focuses on Good Health and Well-being.
Through the psychological interventions carried out during these activities, this collaboration aims to enhance the psychological well-being of patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. By providing practical experience in clinical environments such as hospitals, this partnership also contributes to improving overall health and well-being outcomes, which is in line with the goal of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages.
The Hospitium course is designed to enable students specializing in Adult Clinical Psychology to practice psychological assessment and intervention directly in clinical settings. Additionally, this program aims to make a positive contribution to the psychological conditions of patients, their families, and healthcare providers through organized psychological interventions.
Throughout the program, students were involved in various activities, ranging from individual and group case examinations to discussions, daily evaluations, and preparation for subsequent activities. Under the guidance of lecturers and psychologists from Grhasia Psychiatric Hospital, the students carried out their tasks effectively.
This collaboration involved not only the students and the hospital staff but also other parties that supported the smooth running of the program. It is hoped that the students can apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the Hospitium course in their future professional practice.
