Basics of Intervention Final Exam Poster Session: Posters by Students will be Displayed at the 2024 Summer Course

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, students from the class of 2022, Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University (Fapsi Unpad) attended the Basics of Intervention or DDI (Dasar-dasar Intervensi) course, with the main agenda being a poster session for the Final Exam. The exam was held offline in the ABC Hall from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM under the supervision of the Basics of Intervention Course Teaching Team.

This year’s DDI final exam raised the theme of sustainability, specifically how psychological interventions can provide solutions to address issues related to long-term environmental sustainability. The final exam was held using a poster session system. In each DDI class, taught by a total of six lecturers, students were divided into small groups of five to six people. Each group produced a poster that outlined the assessment results of their chosen issue, a more in-depth explanation of the designed intervention, and an explanation of how to evaluate it. On the day of the presentation, the poster session was divided into three fifteen-minute rounds. During these three rounds, each group was divided into teams of presenters and evaluators, with tasks assigned accordingly. The poster session was attended by students attentively and enthusiastically.

The session began with an opening remark, briefings, and a poster session that concluded a little before 3 PM. After the poster session, students were seen sitting in the hall, taking a break from their presentations. The MC guided the session again, inviting several representatives of the 2022 Fapsi students to share their impressions and remarks. Afterward, the MC invited Prof. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., MOP, Ph.D., Psychologist, or Ms. Rosi, the Coordinator of the Basics of Intervention Course that year, to take over the closing remarks.

“So, they say, whether you’re a psychology graduate or a psychologist, what differentiates you from others is your assessment and intervention skills,” she said as an opening remark while facing the students sitting in the hall. Then, she also added her hopes for the students who have taken the DDI course for one semester, “I hope you learn a lot from this course because it is indeed one of the special skills that someone in psychology must have, whether as a graduate or as a professional psychologist.”

After that, Mrs. Rosi invited students to provide feedback and input. A female student stepped forward, accompanied by loud applause from the other students. The student shared her feedback, saying that she had learned a lot during this time and had just learned that changing behavior does have its own concept, so the DDI course was considered very insightful for her. After that, there was another student, this time she gave input, namely that she hoped that in the future there would be minimum standards in DDI lectures in each class with different lecturers to avoid significant differences in perspectives between students with different supervising lecturers.

Ms. Rosi responded to the feedback by saying, “The standards are the same, basically, maybe they’re the same, but the style and method might be different. But that’s something we’ll take note of for next year. We’ll discuss it again from the beginning, how the standards will be perceived again.”

After that, the closing ceremony continued, with Ms. Rosi inviting the other lecturers on the Basics of Intervention Course Teaching Team to share their impressions and remarks from teaching course. She also touched on the Summer Course, which will be held in July, and then asked for permission to display the posters during the non-degree activity, due to the relevance of the sustainability poster session theme to this year’s Summer Course. Finally, Ms. Rosi closed this year’s DDI course. Afterward, the stage was handed back to the MC.

The MC, representing the students, thanked the DDI lecturers for their guidance throughout the semester and then led the audience in a prayer. The DDI course session, held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, concluded with documentation and singing together.
