A team of lecturers from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Padjadjaran conducted community service activities around Jatinangor sub-district, Sumedang. The community service activity was in the form of counseling entitled “Learning Environment Optimization Program: Numeracy, Language, and Critical Thinking in Pre-School Children” was held at Azaddy Al-Ghozali Kindergarten, Jatinangor, September 21, 2024.

The team of Fapsi Unpad lecturers who conducted the counseling were Asteria Devy Kumalasari, M.Sc., PhD, Psychologist, Dr. rer. Nat. Shally Novita, Vidya Anindhita, M.Psi, Psychologist, and Puspita Adhi Kusuma, M.Psi, Psychologist.
In the event, the lecturer team conducted parenting counseling to participants consisting of parents of these students. The material presented was related to literacy and critical thinking skills.

After the material was established, participants were invited to conduct discussions in groups and conduct role plays to formulate questions that can help children improve their literacy and critical thinking skills.
In its implementation, participants used the Beba book as one of the media that helped the discussion. The results of the discussion were written on flipchart paper and then each group presented the results of their discussion.*
