The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) has just received financial support from the faculty to carry out various activities aimed at strengthening student participation in personal development and the campus community.
BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad is a student organization responsible for coordinating student activities at the Faculty of Psychology, including organizing a series of events for new student orientation (PMB) and skills development programs.
PMB is one of the important programs initiated by BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad. This activity aims to help new students adapt to university life in the Faculty of Psychology. Through PMB, new students are introduced to campus facilities, the academic system, the culture of Fapsi, and various organizations and committees they can join during their studies. This program is designed to ensure that new students become well-acquainted with Fapsi and adapt effectively to the learning process.
In addition to PMB, BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad also runs a program called Psypheneous. This program focuses on developing skills needed during studies at the Faculty of Psychology, Unpad.
Through Psypheneous, new students are encouraged to hone competencies deemed essential for Fapsi newcomers, including skills such as Accurate Self-Assessment (ASA), empathy, managing work, stress tolerance, and teamwork through engaging training activities. This initiative aims to equip students with practical skills that will be beneficial both in their academic studies and professional lives after graduation.
To support the success of these programs, the Faculty of Psychology at Unpad has provided financial support to BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad, amounting to a total of IDR 129 million. This funding is allocated for various operational needs and the development of student activities, including providing spaces such as the Student Center (SC) and Activity Office (KK) for various student organization activities. This support is expected to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the programs conducted by BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad.
The financial support provided by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically point number 16, “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.” By providing adequate facilities and support to students, the faculty actively contributes to creating an inclusive and equitable campus environment. Activities organized by BEM Kema Fapsi Unpad also contribute to strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions to shape young generations who possess integrity, skills, and a passion for making positive contributions to society.
In the long term, it is hoped that this support will shape students who excel not only academically but also have a high social awareness, capable of contributing to creating peace and justice and strengthening existing institutions in Indonesia
