Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran Holds Public Webinar on Parenting

The Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with Unpad Luhung, organized a webinar on parenting titled “Webinar for Parents”. This event took place on Saturday, December 16, 2023, and Sunday, December 17, 2023.
On the first day, the webinar focused on providing guidance for parents to assist their children in choosing a college major. The session featured speakers from the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran and the Universitas Padjadjaran Center for Psychological Innovation, including Dr. Fitriani Yustikasari Lubis, M.Psi, Psikolog, and Anggit Sukmawati, M.Psi., Psikolog.
Meanwhile, the second day featured a webinar themed “Parents as Emotional Coaches.” The speakers for this session were representatives from the Faculty of Psychology Unpad, Dr. Fitri Ariyanti Abidin, M.Psi., Psikolog, and Prof. Dr. Hj. Hendriati Agustiani, M.Si., Psikolog.
This parenting webinar series did not end in just two days. The Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran also organized a Parenting 101 class with the theme “Assessment and Intervention of Parental Burnout.” This lecture was taught by an international guest lecturer, Prof. Isabelle Roskam, a representative from Université catholique de Louvain. This event was held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
The three parenting webinar activities organized through a collaboration between the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Padjadjaran and various external parties are closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4, which focuses on Quality Education.
The purpose of these events is to promote educational programs at the university that are open to the public. It is hoped that by conducting these lectures on parenting guidance, especially on how to handle teenage children, a sense of responsibility will be fostered among the participants who take part in these events.
