The Faculty of Psychology’s Public Relation — On October 15 2022, Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University invited alumni to meet with several faculty representatives at the Seribu Rasa Restaurant which is located in the city of Jakarta. This kind of meeting is the first time held by the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University. The event took place semi-formally with the warmth of a large family consisting of alumni, IKAPsi, and representatives of the Faculty of Psychology. They kept in touch and talked regarding progress of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University. In this event, about 26 alumni were invited but only around 20 people attended this event.

This Alumni Gathering is a faculty program held to support campuses in carrying out internationalization and developing the quality of higher education. Mrs. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, MOP., Ph.D., Psychologist as Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University explained many things about the development and goals of the Faculty of Psychology, especially to internationalize and continue to increase the World University Ranking in the QS version where in 2023, Padjadjaran University was ranked 761st. She also gave a report on the development of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University. The discussion at the alumni meeting included plans for the development and optimization of facilities and infrastructure for the Faculty of Psychology Unpad for 2022-2025 as well as the development and optimization that has been implemented that are, realizing Unpad towards a Hybrid University, the achievements of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad, University Performance Indicators (IKU), Key Performance Indicators (IKK), reports on development and optimization that have been carried out, future work programs, development and optimization plans, as well as budget plans and sources of funds. There was also socialization regarding the Endowment Fund which can strengthen Padjadjaran University as an independent educational institution.

In this event, apart from eating together and gathering, they held relaxed discussions and exchanged ideas about the wishes of the participants for the development of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University. The alumni as part of the extended family also provide assistance, both materially and non-materially. The alumni responded very well to this event, as evidenced by the enthusiasm seen in the many aspirations, suggestions and input provided as well as material assistance through the provision of endowment funds for the sustainability of the faculty.

Endowment fund is an investment fund obtained through donations from alumni and sympathizers of Padjadjaran University. It is then saved and used for student UKT payments, research development, and community service. The function of the endowment fund is to support the sustainability of Padjadjaran University, to be utilized for the current and future generations, and to maintain the existence of Padjadjaran University which is sustainable intergenerationally.

With this endowment fund, it is hoped that the entire extended family of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University — including the alumni, will be more enthusiastic in working together to help develop the facilities and infrastructure of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University. The hope is that the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University can soon reach international standards. In addition, the quality of Human Resources (HR), namely teaching staff, is also increasing every year, especially in the Doctoral and Professorship programs. Another important thing is to increase the skills, competencies and expertise of the lecturers so that the vision and mission of Padjadjaran University can be realized. They also hope that the psychology faculty of Padjadjaran University will be consistent in establishing relationships and increasing the role of alumni. The Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University is expected to be able to maintain a differentiating factor amidst the incessant efforts to standardize psychology such as diagnostic competence which has become a competitive advantage for alumni by making the psychology faculty of Padjadjaran University a “center of excellence” in the development of psychological measurement tools (including online). They also hope that the faculty can get alumni support in the form of sharing practical knowledge, apprenticeships, mentoring, corporate CSR, and donations that have been collected as an endowment fund for the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University (H/SKN)*.
