The Faculty of Psychology’s Public Relation – Bandung Critical Psychology Conference 2022 is a critical psychology conference that involved practitioners and academicians in the Asia-Africa region. This conference intended to strengthen the cooperation of the clinical psychology practitioners, mostly in South East Asia, with other countries. At Bandung Critical Psychology Conference 2022 on August 4th to 6th, 2022, the dean of the Faculty of Psychology in Unpad, namely Mrs. Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, MOP., Ph.D., Psychologist opened the conference along with the event chairman, Mrs. Karolina Dalimunthe, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist, and also moderated by Raden Farras Nadhif Panji Putra as the master of ceremony.

On the first day and first session of this conference, Thomas Teo (Professor of history and theory of psychology program in York University, Toronto, Kanada), presented the topic “What is psychology good for? Absolutely everything!” In the second session, Teguh Wijaya, Khafli Muhammad, & Maria presented the topic “Extending psychology for grasping nature.” The third session was filled with a panel discussion about “Bridging between Afro-Asia Conference and Bandung Critical Psychology Conference.” The panelists in the discussion are Sonia Soans, Retno Hanggarani Ninin, Karolina Lamtiur Dalimunthe, and moderated by Raden Farras Nadhif Panji Putra.

The last session was filled by Ian Parker, a psychologist and psychoanalyst from the University of Leicester. Ian Parker presented the topic “Refusing Psychology: Maps & Territories”. In general, this conference was attended by 40 national and international participants.

On the second day of Bandung Critical Psychology Conference 2022, Raden Farras Nadhif Panji Putra moderated the first presentation session by Fauzan Hazmi, Suci Nur, & Muhammad Haidar about “Women and Family Issues” and continued by a presentation by Ratnafuri Mulia, Reiha Fadila, & Nur Ismi Ramadani about “Reflexivity: How psychologist work?” moderated by Aldirra Naufa Kamila. The second session is a presentation by Paik Wondam about “Pop Globalism, Pop Asianism, and Affective Solidarity in the Post-globalization Era”. The third presentation session was presented by Erica Burman about “The geopolitics of sentiment in animal and child concern: A ‘child as method’ analysis of gender, generation and animal affectivity.”

On the last day of this conference, August 6th, 2022, Bandung Critical Psychology Conference 2022 moderated by Fauziyah Adinda and the first session filled by Hilmar Farid, continued with a panel session about “Society and Culture” by the panelists: Robert Beshara, Yasuhiro Igarashi, and Vina Adriany.

The second presentation was presented by Rifki Akbar Pratama with a topic about “Decolonizing Psychology” and moderated by Ahmad Fadlil Abdillah. In the third session, Noer Fauzi Rachman presented the topic “Teaching through the Anthropocene, a Challenge for Critical Psychology.” Overall, the three days of Bandung Critical Psychology Conference 2022 went very well and brought many benefits to all participants.
